Timmion Records

Timmion Records is a Helsinki based record company that also manufactures vinyl and cd records.

The company was originally established around a group of musicians called The Soul Investigators. The main focus was to release the band’s own music in a way that meets the ears of soul and funk diggers around the world. Since the early days in the late 1990′s the focus is the same but the roster has got new members along the way. In addition to The Soul Investigators, Timmion Records has released music from Brooklyn born Nicole Willis, New Orleans legend Willie West, California Soul-Duo Myron & E, Big Joe Louis, Herb Johnson, The Soul Ladas, Guest Villains, Yona, The Soultors, Ostari Njengi, Didier’s Sound Spectrum, Juhani and the list goes on and grows all the time!

Timmion Cutting Laboratory was built and launched in 2009. Since then many labels, artists and bands from different genres have found out that the true vinyl sound lives at Timmion Labs. The Soul Investigators recently released their much anticipated collaboration with Myron & E, ‘Broadway’ via Stones Throw Records. Previously, Myron & E and the Soul Investigators released a string of excellent funk 45s on the Timmion label—starting with 2008’s “Cold Game”/”I Can’t Let You Get Away”—before signing with Stones Throw last year. For the album, the Soul Investigators provided demos from overseas with the duo stationed on the west coast writing the lyrics and singing all the vocals. “I don’t really think there’s anybody else that can do it as good as they can,” E says about the band. “They do it like none other.”
